About Our Scallops

Far West Scallops fishes for and processes the Southern Saucer Scallop (Latin name: Amusium balloti), which is unique to Australia. The Southern Saucer scallop is found off the coast of much of Western Australia including in the pristine waters of the Abrolhos Islands, Shark Bay, and Western Australia’s South Coast where our fleet of boats operate.

The Most Prized Species in Asia

In Asian markets, our scallops are considered a delicacy and are highly prized and valued for their sweet taste and firm texture.

The season generally extends from March to July (depending on the catch), and our Southern Saucer Scallops are available from April onwards.

‘Far West’ scallops are available as follows:

Commercial Pack Frozen as 2kg blocks, packaged as 6 x 2kg
Retail Pack Frozen as 250g, packaged as 6 x 250g
